Google is not the only front door. On Hedera, a lot of people open HashScan first: a token id, a wallet notification, a HashPack NFT, a mention in a dApp directory. If that token page is blank, the cask looks like a test mint. If the page has a name, an NFT image, and a path back to Cask Capital, it looks like a product.
This is a reading guide. It is not a recommendation to buy. Remaining units and checkout live on the app after 18+ verification. This page does not freeze a remaining count.
What HashScan is
HashScan is a Hedera block explorer. Paste a token id (0.0.…) and you get the public HTS record: name, symbol, type, supply, treasury, and NFT serials.
Cask Capital mints on Hedera Token Service. Each listed cask is one NFT collection. Each fractional unit is a serial in that collection. After a purchase is minted, the serial is the on-chain ownership record. Card buyers can hold in platform custody until they connect a wallet (HashPack is the common path) and claim.
USDC on Hedera and card (Stripe) are both live. A card fee is shown at checkout.
A worked example: Staiosha
Lead listing this week is Staiosha (whisky writers usually spell the make Staoisha: peated Bunnahabhain-related fill). Locked facts, confirm remaining units on the app:
- Fill: 16 January 2025
- Cask: ex-Laphroaig quarter cask
- ABV: 69.3%
- Price: 169 USDC per fractional unit
- HTS token:
0.0.10443090(HashScan) - Token name on-chain: Staiosha Cask
- Symbol:
CASK-9332
Open the Staiosha listing (18+ age gate).
For the spelling note and the official distillery whole-cask programme (a different product), read Staiosha (Staoisha): peated Bunnahabhain, fractional on Hedera.
What to read on the token page
Work top to bottom.
Name and symbol. Casks use {Producer} Cask and a CASK- symbol. Wine bottles use producer, varietal, and vintage. If the name does not match the listing title, stop and compare the token id on the listing, not a Google snippet.
Type. Cask Capital casks are non-fungible unique tokens with a finite max supply. Max supply should match how many fractional units the cask was divided into at mint. Total supply is how many serials have been minted so far. Those two numbers are not the same thing as "units still for sale on the app."
Treasury. New serials mint from the Cask Capital treasury, then transfer on claim or at purchase when a wallet is already connected.
NFT serials. Click a serial. Metadata, when pinned, is HIP-412 JSON on IPFS: image, description, attributes (fill, ABV, cask number, storage), and an external_url back to Cask Capital. If a serial shows plain text and no image, the on-chain name is still the token record; the picture lives only after metadata is pinned.
Memo / homepage. Newer tokens can carry a short memo pointing at www.caskcapital.io. Older tokens may have an empty memo. That does not mean the listing is fake. It means you should match token id to the catalog or the app, not wait for a website field that was never set at create time.
Do not assume a public Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) attestation feed exists for every listing. When custody events are written, they are a separate record. Start with the listing and the token page.
Match HashScan to a listing without guessing
Three public surfaces, three jobs:
- HashScan is the chain record. Token id, name, serials.
- www.caskcapital.io/marketplace is the crawlable catalog. No login, no age gate, no checkout. Each public listing can carry a HashScan link when a real HTS id exists.
- app.caskcapital.io is where remaining units and purchase live (18+).
How to match: copy the token id from HashScan. Find the same id on the catalog card or in the app listing. If they disagree, trust the token id over a screenshot.
Rum is live on the marketplace (Trinidad Distillers is one example). It is not a roadmap item and it is not this week's hero. Whisky, tequila, and wine also appear on the public catalog when those listings are public. Tequila with no token id yet will show a catalog card and no HashScan link until first mint.
What HashScan will not tell you
HashScan does not show the live remaining count on a Cask Capital primary listing. It does not run checkout. It does not replace how it works, the FAQ, or the risk disclosure.
It also does not turn an illiquid bonded-warehouse position into a DEX ticker. Secondary listing, where enabled, happens on the Cask Capital marketplace.
This is fractional ownership of a physical cask, not equity in Cask Capital B.V.
