Question 1

What is Cask Capital?

Accepted Answer

Cask Capital is a marketplace and custody platform for cask-aged assets: whisky, rum, tequila, and wine. You can own a full cask or fractional units as Hedera HTS NFTs, held with verified storage partners. Checkout is on the app.

Question 2

What are cask-aged assets?

Accepted Answer

Cask-aged assets are spirits such as whisky, wine, or tequila that mature in oak barrels over time. The aging process enhances their flavor, quality, and value, making them attractive for both collectors and investors.

Question 3

Why should I buy cask-aged assets?

Accepted Answer

Cask Capital does not tell you to buy. Cask-aged assets are physical goods that mature in bonded storage. Whether they fit you depends on your time horizon, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance. Read the listing, how it works, this FAQ, and the risk disclosure, then decide for yourself.

Question 4

How is custody handled?

Accepted Answer

Assets stay with verified storage partners. Custody events (cask details, age, location) are mirrored to your on-chain record for transparency.

Question 5

How do I exit?

Accepted Answer

Once matured, Cask Capital will facilitate the sale procedure of the casks. All proceeds are deposited into the accounts of the token holders.

Question 6

Do I need a wallet?

Accepted Answer

No. You can browse listings and buy with a card without a wallet. A Hedera-compatible wallet is optional and lets you pay with USDC and hold NFTs on-chain. HashPack is the common Hedera path. Other chains are on the longer-term roadmap; they are not live.

Question 7

What type of casks do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Currently, we have Scotch, rum, wine, and tequila. We add new casks as they become available.

Question 8

How are casks selected for tokenization?

Accepted Answer

We partner with reputable distilleries and storage providers. Each cask is vetted for provenance, quality, and investment potential before being offered on the platform.

Question 9

What are typical holding periods for the casks?

Accepted Answer

Holding periods vary by spirit type and investment goals, but most casks are held for 3 to 10 years to maximize maturation benefits and value appreciation.

Question 10

How is the value of the cask determined over time?

Accepted Answer

Cask value is influenced by factors like age, distillery reputation, cask type, ABV (alcohol by volume), market demand, and whisky quality. We can provide periodic valuations based on industry benchmarks.

Question 11

What is tokenization, and how does it work at Cask Capital?

Accepted Answer

Tokenization is the process of representing ownership of a physical asset (like a cask) as a digital token or NFT on the blockchain. At Cask Capital, each cask or fractional unit is linked to a unique NFT, providing secure, transparent, and tradable proof of ownership.

Question 12

What blockchain does Cask Capital use?

Accepted Answer

Casks are tokenized on Hedera using Hedera Token Service (HTS). Some custody events are written to Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) when they are recorded; do not assume every listing has a public HCS feed. Ethereum and Base are on the longer-term roadmap. They are not live.

Question 13

How do I verify a listing on HashScan?

Accepted Answer

Each minted cask is an HTS NFT collection with a token id such as 0.0.10443090. Open that id on hashscan.io (mainnet). Check the token name, symbol, type (non-fungible unique), and NFT serials. Image and listing URL sit in serial metadata when pinned. Match the token id to the public catalog or the app listing. Remaining units and checkout are only on app.caskcapital.io. A walkthrough is on the blog: How to verify a Cask Capital cask on HashScan.

Question 14

What is the public catalog versus the app?

Accepted Answer

www.caskcapital.io/marketplace is a no-login, browse-only catalog of public listings, including HashScan links when a real token id exists. It is for crawlers and readers. Purchases happen on app.caskcapital.io. The catalog is not a substitute for live remaining units on the app.

Question 15

What does it mean to own an NFT on Cask Capital?

Accepted Answer

Owning an NFT on Cask Capital means you have a verifiable, blockchain-based claim to a specific cask or a fractional unit of a cask. The NFT serial is the on-chain ownership record.

Question 16

Can the NFTs be traded?

Accepted Answer

Where secondary listing is enabled, fractional units can be listed on the Cask Capital marketplace. That is the live venue. External NFT marketplaces are not a current path.

Question 17

Are the tokens tied to a physical cask?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every token is linked to a real cask (or bottle, for wine listings) held with a verified storage partner. Listing metadata carries fill, ABV, cask number, and storage. Some custody events are written to HCS when recorded. HashScan holds the HTS token and serial record.

Question 18

What is the minimum investment?

Accepted Answer

Minimums depend on each listing’s price per fractional unit and how many units you choose. Many fractional listings allow you to start with a single unit. See the live marketplace for current prices. Custom portfolios may have higher minimums; contact us for specifics.

Question 19

What fees does Cask Capital charge?

Accepted Answer

Fee structures can include platform or transaction fees, custody-related costs, and third-party payment or network fees (for example blockchain settlement). Exact fees are disclosed at checkout and in offer documentation for each asset. We aim to keep fees transparent. Check the listing and Terms for the applicable schedule before you confirm a purchase.

Question 20

Are there costs to sell or exit early?

Accepted Answer

Secondary sales may involve marketplace spread, any platform fees, and network fees when moving tokens or proceeds. If you exit through a managed sale or redemption program described for your asset, separate terms may apply. Review each asset’s disclosures and the FAQ on exiting for details.

Question 21

What are the tax implications of investing?

Accepted Answer

Tax treatment depends on your country of residence, how you hold the asset, and whether you realize a gain on sale or redemption. Cask Capital does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser about capital gains, reporting obligations, and any consumption or duty considerations for cask-aged assets.

Question 22

Is this offer suitable for me?

Accepted Answer

Cask-aged and tokenized assets carry risk, including illiquidity and price volatility. You should read our Risk Disclosure and Terms, consider your own situation, and seek independent legal or financial advice before investing.

Question 23

Where can I read the legal documents?

Accepted Answer

Our Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Risk Disclosure are linked in the website footer. Read them carefully before using the platform or sending funds.
